  Beautifully etched details that make this a working
model unlike any others. The foundation posts are solid square brass rod,
giving the structure a low center of gravity and plenty of heft. The gates
on the chutes will actually rotate to "open" & "closed"
position by moving the lever. The chute extensions fold up out of the way
when pulled by the realistic looking gun-metal chains. The sheaves use slippery
beads as bearings so that the chains never bind up. There are working 14V
lamps on each side that are hooked up to the AC circuit on most power supplies.
The steps are by far the most exciting achievement for this design: Each
step is easily rotated to a level position by using tweezers and each stairway-set
is logically mounted with the assistance of slots, brackets & tabs.
