GRAND PRIZE WINNER - N SCALE

Even though only one person entered the HO scale part of the contest and full honors of a "first place" finish cannot be conferred, I will be sending this entrant, Gerry Siegel a free HO scale Model T kit for his craftsmanship and for making the effort for his scale of choice.

ABOVE: Cliff Travis' modeling of the Z scale "Metal Foundry" was extremely popular with voters, garnering over 60 votes! Also he has made good use of our security fence. Finally; in the background is one our Pratt Truss bridges over the yards behind the foundry. Many elements went into this layout image. A very active and exciting section of any layout and a worthwhile winner!

ABOVE: Peter Wisniewski's model; some of you are already familiar with this image as it has also been featured on our "customer pics" page. This model has already won many awards at train shows and has now won the N scale category in this contest. Though he used our Knox Chemical Fire Engine kit, #2039 as a basis for this work, many of the finest parts were hand build and machined to make an even more accurately detailed fire truck. Micron Art is very pleased to share the glory with such a fine craftsman!

ABOUT THE HONORABLE MENTIONS

We chose the winners for this category, not the voters. Originally it was our intention only to have the "Grand Prize" awards. But there were so many great examples of fine modeling by our long time customers that we decided that more of you warranted acknowledgement. Beleive me it was hard to decide!

Above: Instvan Molnar's very active steam era locomotive facilities make this a fine example of modeling in Z scale. It is colorful and an outstanding example of our products for all who see it. Above: Fred Kiehl's lone buckboard, the small frame house and muddy road evokes an era, a time that could have been taken from an old black and white photograph. It is a very charming, quiet, yet evocative scene.
